Appeals Information - Important

 Appeals Information

 

When making an application for your child to join our school, if you are not successful you will be provided with the option to appeal the decision.  This is a way to challenge the process only if you do not feel that the policy has been applied correctly.  The appeals process is not for those who are disappointed that they did not get a place once the policy had been applied and we would ask these parents to add their children to our continuing interest list. 

We would ask that you think very carefully before lodging an appeal to ensure that you feel that the policy has not been used correctly.  We would be more than happy to speak to you about this and would encourage you to call us to discuss further.  In the vast majority of cases, we are able to explain why a place was not offered.

 

Each time an appeal is lodged by a parent, we have to pay an administration fee to the local authority which is over £250 per appeal.  This takes funding from our curriculum and wider budget which we would like to avoid if possible.
