    Awards and Research

As a school, we are proud to have been recognised for the specialist work that we have conducted in some areas to enhance the offer provided to our children.  Below are some of the Quality Marks and Awards that we have.

Hertfordshire's Emotional Mental Wellbeing in School's Mark

We have are one of a few local schools to hold this mark, which recognises the work we do to ensure that all members of our school community feel safe, secure and well supported.  The mark considers our curriculum, wider offer and how we work with all stakeholders to get the most for our children, staff and families.

    Online Safety with 360safe

We have audited and improved our provision around online safety to ensure that our children are protected and taught about how to keep themselves safe online.

    Eco-Schools Green Flag

This accreditation demonstrates the work that we have done in trying to be more environmentally friendly in many of the things we do and are also supporting our children to have a better understanding of the core issues around this.

Inspectors noted that "You should all be very proud of your amazing work and the great application you have submitted. You've really earned your Green Flag Bronze Award accreditation!"

    National Tutoring Programme

We are a recognised National Tutoring Programme school, having used the scheme to offer additional support to a number of groups of pupils across the school in English and maths.

Gold School Games Mark - 2023/2024

Sport is a key element of our offer as a school, with the aim of supporting our pupils to be active and aware of their health and fitness.  For the 2023/2024 year, we have been awarded the Gold mark for the significant dedication towards supporting all pupils in sports pathways.

    Modeshift Bronze Star Award

This is awarded to the school to recognise the work done to ensure that all pupils are safe on their journeys to school and recognise how they can travel in sustainable and healthy ways.

The award requires the school to have a clear action plan as to how this can be further improved as well as a team of Junior Travel Ambassadors who work to support it.

    Bikeability Provider

As a school, we are able to make use of the local Bikeability provision, enabling our pupils to become confident and capable cyclists, able to use the roads in a safe and conscientious way.

    Alban Teaching School Hub

As a school, are part of the local teaching school hub, meaning that we have been recognised for the work we do in supporting those training to be teachers or new to the profession.

    Swim England

We are a Swim England School Swimming and Water Safety Charter member.  Our Year 6 pupils receive specialist and specific tuition around water safety as part of their swimming lessons.  This is particularly important given the local canals and waterways.

    Research Projects

As a school, we enjoy working to develop our practice to change and adapt along with the world of education.  We regularly take time to look at new research and current pedagogical thinking with staff and we use this reflection to improve what we do in school.  This helps to ensure that our children get the best possible education.
