The Truth About Old People
By Elina Ellis
What this book is about
The Truth About Old People is a wonderfully illustrated book about a boy’s experience of being with his grandparents. At the start, the text follows a traditional stereotype, however as the story goes on, he finds that his grandparents lead very rich and exciting lives! The children will have the opportunity to explore the term ‘stereotype’ and how sometimes we may stereotype different people; how do we recognise a stereotype, and what can we do if we hear someone being discriminatory?
