    Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity

Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity at Nash Mills

As a school we are committed to the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion for all. These principles are crucial in supporting our culture and school values; they are also integral to delivering successful learning, teaching and personal development.  We focus on the different areas of protected characteristics and ensure that pupils are aware of them and can celebrate the differences that they bring.

We want everyone to feel listened to and heard; that they are an important part of the jigsaw that makes our community so special.  The work we do should move us towards ensuring that everyone within our diverse community feels equally able to achieve their absolute best.

We have an EDI development plan, which outlines the work that we hope to achieve over the coming year.

Most importantly, the work that we do is driven by our team of pupil ambassadors, who help to drive change and challenge thinking around our key ideas.

    This team is called

    We DECIDE

    At Nash Mills, we show:

    Diversity

    Equality

    Celebration

    Inclusion

    Difference

    Empathy

We use the No Outsiders resource sometimes in worship and to help us select the books that pupils can read in class.  This ensures that the children in each year group are exposed to a range of backgrounds, beliefs and cultures.
