Below you will find our Admissions Policy, which details how places are offered.  

You will also see the Church Attendance Form.  If you wish to apply for a place at our school under Rule 3 (regularly attending a church and living within 1.5km of the school), please complete the Hertfordshire online application and then complete the Church Attendance Form before returning it to the school directly.  If you do not wish to apply under Rule 3, you do not need to complete this form. 

For pupils hoping to start with us in September 2025

Thank you for taking the time to look at our Reception Admissions Page.  Our Reception class runs each day from 8.40am-3.10pm.  In September 2025, we shall be admitting children born between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021.  All children must apply for a Reception place, even if they have been part of our Nursery class.

From October 2024, we will be offering tours of our school so that prospective parents can see our setting and find out a little more about us. The dates for these tours will be added to this page in September 2024.  There are also a number of videos and other information on our website.

Reception Applications open in November 2024 and should be made through the Hertfordshire Admissions system, which can be accessed by following the link at the bottom of this page.

School Tours

We would be delighted to meet you and show you our wonderful school.  Whether you are certain that we are the right place for your child or still undecided, we'd be happy to meet you and answer any questions you may have.  Tours will be taking place at 9.30am, dates are shown below and are booked on a first come first served basis. Please phone the School Office on 01442 252972 or email admin@nashmills.herts.sch.uk to book your place!

Appeals

If you are not successful in getting the space you wanted for your child and you feel that the admissions process has not been handled in line with the policy, you are able to make an appeal.  As a school, we have to pay for each appeal that is lodged and so we would strongly encourage you to speak with us before doing so as we may be able to explain the situation to you and why your child has not been offered a place at this stage.  If you do wish still to appeal, the timeline and guidance document, below may be useful.
