Welcome

Welcome to our School!

I have been at Nash Mills since September 2020, having previously worked within other local schools.  In this time, I have had the pleasure of seeing our community grow and develop, despite various challenges.

I believe that I speak for all of the staff in saying that it is a pleasure being part of the Nash Mills community and working with an amazing cohort of pupils, who show us their talents and skills each day.   Our children are at the heart of all we do and their achievements are a credit to the entire community.  Through our varied and rich curriculum, we aim to equip all of our pupils to be ready to take all that life has to offer; taking each opportunity with excitement and living life in all its fullness.

We are different to other local schools in that we are proud to be a church school, which means that we can offer a distinctive vision.  For us, this comes from the story of The Good Samaritan.  We want all of our children growing up to be empathetic and caring citizens who take time to think about those around them and are able to offer a helping hand where they can.  This is a focus through daily conversations, but also within our curriculum and in every subject, pupils will have the opportunity to explore this; whether by thinking about other communities in geography, or how discoveries (for example in medicine) have been used to help people in science.

Locally our school is also special, being over 175 years old!  Founded in the nineteenth century, we are the original village school and remain at the heart of our community today.  The school has a wealth of interesting history which will form part of each child’s learning.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office (01442 252972) or e-mail admin@nashmills.herts.sch.uk to make an appointment.

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Mr Maher
