At Nash Mills CofE Primary School, the safety, welfare and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do and is the responsibility of every adult within our school community.

Safeguarding is about much more than child protection. It includes ensuring that children are safe physically and emotionally, teaching them how to make safe choices, supporting their mental wellbeing, promoting positive relationships, and helping them stay safe both online and offline.

We know that safeguarding works best when schools and families work together. To help parents and carers better understand our approach, we have created a short video that explains how we keep children safe, the systems and procedures we have in place, and the support available for children and families.

Our school has four Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) who are specially trained to lead safeguarding within the school. If you have any questions about safeguarding, require advice, or have a concern about a child, please speak to one of our DSLs. They will be happy to listen, offer support and help you access the appropriate guidance if needed.
