Research and Partnership

As a school, we recognise that strong local partnerships are key to the work we do.  Through collaborative working and engagement with the most up-to-date research, we are able to offer the best possible curriculum to our pupils.

Our local partnerships include:

We are heavily involved in developing how we work with schools in the local area.  In recent years, we have set up local school clusters for English and maths, considering how schools can work together to moderate and to share best practice.

We have also set up Forest School and outdoor learning clusters, which have been attended by around 20 local schools.

Following changes to the service offer by local government, our school also hosts a Family Support Worker, who supports children within our school and a number of other local schools.

Our Headteacher chairs the Dacorum Headteacher's Consortium, supporting local school leaders in working together.

We regularly engage with the work to develop specialist provision in the local area, considering how schools and other organisations can work together in order.

Our Headteacher is part of the management board for DSPL and our SENCo runs one of the local funding panels.

We work closely with the local Family Support organisation and recently helped to lead on the service transformation following change in local government funding.

As a school, we are part of the local teaching school hub, meaning that we have been recognised for the work we do in supporting those training to be teachers or new to the profession.

Research Projects

As a school, we enjoy working to develop our practice to change and adapt along with the world of education.  We regularly take time to look at new research and current pedagogical thinking with staff and we use this reflection to improve what we do in school.  This helps to ensure that our children get the best possible education.

Recent projects include taking part in projects around our science curriculum.  In 2025-2026, we took part in an Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) research project into the effectiveness of the Primary Science Quality Mark.  In conjunction with the University of Hertfordshire, we carried out various studies into this.  In 2026, we also took part in a research study with CREST, around the impact of their awards on pupil engagement in science.

We are also part of the Brilliant Club Scholars Programme and annually take part in projects which involve leading UK universities.  This helps to raise skill levels of our pupils and also staff.
